Hey Everyone!  

Jonathan just sent his application, along with 3 songs to Music180 to be chosen as one of 20 to be developed as an Artist, in the true sense of the form.  Eric Galen encouraged him to do so and without hesitation, he did!  We will find out at the end of December, beginning of January if Jonathan was chosen!

So keep shopping so he can go to LA!!!!!!

On Another Note:

Hello Fans!

Jonathan is in production with another music video (the song is a secret) but, we realized that it can’t be done without the volunteer efforts of you all!  It was incredible having so many of you involved in the last project and so we are asking if you would like to volunteer your time and efforts again.  YOU MUST BE BLE TO ATTEND A MANDATORY MEETING , SATURDAY, JANUARY 8^TH 2011 AT 4 PM.  Dinner will be provided after the meeting.

To make things run smoothly, we have several volunteer positions available for you to fill!  It’s a party waiting to happen! Plus, you can put it on your resume!

We need one to two people to help with lighting – you will work with the Director and Videographer to get the best lighting and shots possible.

One or two people to help with moving around the Set/Props/etc.- again, working closely with the Director/Videographer to get the best shots for each era.

One or two people to be Gophers- you will be our go to get it done people!  You will be reimbursed for your gas if necessary.

Since this is a three day shoot, we need two or three people to help with food prep/serve/clean up –We will provide foods to be prepared simply so no major cooking is necessary.  I have my food handlers license so there is no problem there.  Just putting together the ingredients provided and served to cast and crew- including yourselves.

Details:  The shoot begins Friday, January 21, 2011 and goes through January 23, 2011 from 9 am – 8pm (possibly longer.)  You are welcome to throw a sleeping bag down and crash at our house for the weekend! Meals are included.  Probably some wine or beer as well for those over 21 years of age!

All Volunteers will receive a T-Shirt, CD –mastered copy of the song used, as well as a special DVD of the music video.

Jonathan's journey is continuing!!!  He is once again working closely with the Eric Galen and the folks at Music180 to further his career.  The planning stages have begun to return to Studio City in Los Angeles, in March, to do some recording with Gordon Pagado and his partner Peter.  For those of you who came to the Premiere of IF YOU'RE ON THE SAME LEVEL, you heard a snippet of one of the songs Jonathan wrote with Gordon named, WHAT WERE YOU DRINKIN?
As we have said before, this journey is going to be costly and so we will be doing some fundraising over the next couple of months to help with the cost.  Keep watching the blog and newsletter for information!
Two songs will take a total of 10 VERY LONG days in the studio and so there will be no time for fun.  Strictly business on this next trip!  Donations are always welcome and you will receive many incredible  benefits by being a donor!  You may request this information at:  jmmusic91@yahoo.com.  We would be happy to send it to you!

Spotlight, check. Red carpet, check. Food and beverages, check. Perfect venue, check. The event: the premiere of the new video, ‘If You’re On The Same Level’. On a rainy night in November, in a remodeled 1911 schoolhouse rich in charm and refinement, family and friends chatted while awaiting the arrival of the reason for the excitement in the air: Jonathan Miller. He did at last--and along with him he brought...magic.

Jonathan Miller’s fervor, warmth, graciousness, and sharp wit instantaneously draw people to him. In a crowded room, he is a beacon of light that unites all in attendance; and yet...and yet one somehow walks away at the end of a soiree held in his honor feeling as if he devoted all of his time to you and you alone. His appreciation for the support and love of his ardent enthusiasts is evident from his first step into a room and he is not shy about letting it be known. Quite simpy put, Jonathan Miller is a class act. And on that night of celebration, we all knew we were witnessing the beginning of something grand.

The video was what Jonathan promised it would be--exciting. A hard-working cast and crew united splendidly to showcase Jonathan’s talent, producing a video that is fun to watch. I caution those reading this: if you have not seen it, be prepared for several days of the featured song, ‘If You’re On The Same Level’ invading your head once you do; in addition, you are in for a display of a true star in the making...or is Jonathan already a star? On so many ‘levels’ the answer to that question is an undeniable yes.

And so...on a rainy night in November, in a 1911 remodeled schoolhouse rich in charm and refinement, a bunch of people got together to celebrate. Call them what you will--fortunate, providential, lucky--it all adds up to one word: blessed. We were the ones who got to hug him and kiss him and wish him well on his journey to the top. It was an honor.

I just wanted to let you know how wonderful the “If You’re on the Same Level” Premier Party was. Driving on that dark dreary night into the recesses of a country road, we started to wonder if we were lost. Then through the haze of the mist, we saw it…the searchlight reaching up into the sky. We smiled at each other because we knew that we had arrived.


The location was exquisite. The historic schoolhouse filled with beautiful art and even more beautiful people could not have provided a better backdrop for this very special event. I must admit the opportunity to reconnect with old friends and discover incredibly interesting new friends was so overwhelming that I temporarily forgot why we were there.


Then as we all gathered to listen to you share your moment with us – I found myself looking around the room. There I saw people of all ages and all backgrounds, sitting together, laughing in harmony at the jokes and feeling the love as you thanked everyone with words that rang true. As you built to the moment for the video debut it was clear that you had captured the room. The video was great and a joy to watch. But perhaps my favorite part of the evening is when Jonathan sang some of his other songs. Standing there unsupported by instruments or choreography, your words and feeling were softly powerful – and the room went silent. It was at that moment, it was clear we were in the presence of a talent that shined much brighter than the searchlight that guided us to this one location on this dark and rainy evening. It was there that we clearly knew… despite our diverse backgrounds and the different roads we had all traveled to arrive there on that evening. We, indeed were all on the same level. Thank you for your hospitality and the sharing of your talent and passion. Continue to live your dream and we will continue to enjoy the reflection of our art.

It was a night of glamour, grace, laughter, and fun! A perfect night to honor the premier of Jonathan Miller’s new release: “If You’re on the Same Level”.


Nestled in a quaint remodeled school house surrounded by the beautiful glasswork of another talented artist, the guests were dispersed in conversation anticipating the arrival of Jonathan Miller. Soon the limousines would arrive to the glistening spotlight that shimmered against the soft rain. Jonathan Miller has arrived. Not just to the party but to a new level of artistic talent. 


The premier showcased his video, “If you’re on the same level”, however Jonathon will surpass this level and step into a new level, one of greatness. This very talented young man can not only sing and capture his audience with his songs, but his mature yet spirited side can entertain those he interacts with. 

Jonathan’s personality can light up a room similar to the spotlight that captured the shimmer of the falling rain; he never missed a drop. He made sure everyone present felt like they were the most important part of his dream and journey. 

Gracefully he moved about the room, he shared stories that had all laughing, and most of all, every individual left knowing this young man was on a wonderful journey and they were thankful to be on the path with him that night and in the future.

Day Fifteen. . . .

CAN WE BE MORE EXCITED????!
Almost home!  We stopped in Ashland for the night and have been working on all the details for the Premiere.  No rest for the weary!!  Searchlight? Check!  Red Carpet? Check! Snacks and drinks? Check!  Merchandise? Check! Program Designed? Check! Every detail? Check! Check! Check!  Jonathan and I have gone over and over the next three days events until our brains are literally spinning inside our heads!  There is so much to do and tomorrow night will be a late one!  Then on Friday it's up early and off to the rental store.  Crazy and Exciting things happening at Jonathan Miller Music!

The Premiere keeps getting bigger and better everyday!  Must remember the coffee!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day Fourteen. . .

Jonathan and I are in Stockton for the night.  Kind of had a rough start to the day but it seemed to smooth out by late afternoon.  The drive was great except for a few hiccups in which CHPS suddenly appeared in the distance.  No biggie. . . the game of slow down, speed up was fine.
Jonathan talked a mile a minute and is really pumped to see all of you at the Premiere on Saturday night!  There is still time to RSVP!  The more the merrier.  I think we are creeping up on 100 guests, not counting Cast and Crew!  Totally exciting!
4 Days and counting until the Premiere!!!!!!!!!!
Remember that the Premiere is at Dottie and Keith Wernli's home, which is has a field to park in so dress appropriately.  If it is muddy, we will be asking that you take off your shoes upon entering the house.  It's an historic landmark and we want to preserve it and treat it with respect!  Let me know if you need the address for your GPS or for mapquesting!

Lot's of work to do between now and Saturday but it's totally going to be worth it!  Can't wait to see you all there!

We are hitting the Disneyland once again today!  Then tonight we have the special tickets needed to get in for the big Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom!  Can't wait!

Jonathan has a new cousin that was born at 12:34 this morning!  Cannon Levi McClendon welcome to the world sweet baby boy!!!!!  Also a Big Happy Halloween Birthday to Jonathan's nephew, Christopher, in Bend - who is 12 today and to our 'Sister' Susan who is 23 today!!!!!!  We love all of you!!!!!

DISNEYLAND!!!!  So much fun and a great way to relax after a hard week of work!  We managed to go on a couple of rides but mostly just walked around and briefly shopped.  We had a late lunch at the RainForest Cafe- A favorite of both Jonathan and Stephen's.  Pics to follow soon.  I came back to the hotel to ice my knee and have some down time and the fam followed a couple of hours later.  


It was a Lazy Day at the Happiest Place on Earth but so much fun as well!

Day Eleven. . .

Michelle Lewis is a phenomenal woman with a phenomenal family and dog!  LOL!!!!  Jonathan and I have been discussing how to describe the experience of working with Michelle and there are no words that come close to expressing the generosity, support and the validation this woman gives out.  There is so much to say, yet I don't know where to start.  Let me try to sum it all up:
Jonathan's foot is more than in the door.  He has a few assignments he is going to do and he is going to work closely with Michelle over the next few months.  Jonathan's goal is to have his first concert in April - Michelle's BIG assignment for him, where she can be there and say "I told you so!!!!!!!!"  She loved his music, she loved his lyrics and she loved working with him.  "He's' there, already.  'He' just needs to shake a few things up a bit but change not a word.  You're right where you should be.  Pop.  You're right up there with the rest just make it special.  I'll help you if you want me too but you've got it.  You've got this!"
Michelle and Jonathan worked together on 10 of his songs in a little over 5 hours. After all that, only ONE did Jonathan insist that she share the credit with him.  She didn't want to take the credit but he insisted.  She and he worked the most on that one song.  Otherwise she was just giving a little advice or example but over all she loves his work.  She challenged Jonathan to learn four of his songs acoustically and play them himself at his concert.  She didn't want to hear that he couldn't do it!  She told him he WILL do it.  We have arranged for him to do guitar four days a week!  She challenged him because he doesn't play an instrument and she knows it will be helpful when writing songs.  It's all going rather quickly yet she is keeping his feet on the ground and while letting him fly, she's also guiding.  It's so hard to explain- you had to be there.
Jonathan is joining ASCAP as a Professional Songwriter and when we come back down in a month or so, she will set up a meeting with the head of membership so she can show Jonathan the ins and outs, the who and where's.  Michelle is basically taking him under her wing.
Well that's it.  More later and it becomes clearer in our brains.  Michelle, her husband Dan, and her son, Jackson are incredible people and there is a reason they are the success both in their personal life and professional life.  Their super cute dog, Beatrix is just as wonderful!  See pics below!

Day Ten - Oh what a day!!!!

Met Michelle Lewis for coffee before adjourning to her studio for the day.  It was great to have that time to meet her and have Jonathan get comfortable with her.  She's an incredibly talented but more than that, funny and kind!
We went to her studio where she listened to Jonathan's IF YOU'RE ON THE SAME LEVEL  and watched the video.  She LOVED them.
She was so interested in Jonathan's songs and she worked together with him on what he already had written.  She didn't have to do much which impressed Michelle greatly.  She said that Jonathan is an amazing songwriter and artist and that she will see him in LA next year doing a concert and she will say to him. . . "I told you so!"  Trust me, she has worked with some BIG TIME people - more than she let on in her bio!  We can't tell you everything from today yet but know that it is huge.
Michelle told Jonathan to bring as many songs tomorrow as he wants and she will help him if any of them should need it.  She was totally impressed by Jonathan's work.  It was awesome!
I took lots of work to do to stay out of their hair and I ended up just watching them work together.  Time flew!  FLEW!!!!
Tomorrow we are starting our session early (11) and I get to play not only with their dog Beatrix but her son, Jackson who is 3 and adorable!  Met her husband Dan who is a huge talent in his own right.  GREAT family!!!!  I took pics and video's but am not ready to share just yet.  More tomorrow.
That's it for tonight!  We are emotionally and physically tired!  On to Anaheim after the session tomorrow night.

Day Nine

Well today was a work day but we did get to play a tiny bit!  Lot's to go over and recap the last two days with Gordon.  Talk about the Premiere and all that entails.  We began to plan out the next video and when the album is going to be release (name is a surprise.) Also, we talked about timing to come back here to LA and record.
We slipped away for a short while and made our way to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  There are a lot of stars!!!!  3.5 miles worth!  We saw the first half and then decided to make our way down towards the Kodak theater and have lunch at Hard Rock Cafe.  Such a cool place!!!!  It's huge!
As Jonathan and I sat there waiting for our food, he received a phone call from Gordon going on and on about the songs they wrote and many other things.  He also received emails from Michelle Lewis - whom he works with tomorrow and Friday (she wants to grab coffee before the session so we are meeting her at a coffee shop in Studio City,) Eric Galen as well as one from Gordon Pogoda.  Jonathan was busy!!!!!  He did manage to eat a little bit of his hamburger (a cheeseburger without cheese) so that was good!
After the lunch, we made our way back outside and continued looking at the stars.  We walked our way down to the Chinese Theater and bowed to the King of Pop's star!  Michael Jackson.  It was funny because people just walked over every star like it was nothing - except Michaels.  They would stop, look and step around or over.  It was kind of cool, the respect.
Anyway, Jonathan finally found Britney Spears' Star and we had to take a picture.  I'll post it in a minute.
It was amazing to walk and stand in the same places that many stars of today and yesterday, walked and stood.  There's magic along that walk.  At least for us there was.

Here is another sneak peek from my upcoming official music video for "If You're on the Same Level." Enjoy!!

Day Eight

Jonathan and Gordon wrote a total of two songs together and because they were writing the second song today, they worked for 7 hours straight without taking a break!  They wrote the second song, in just 3 hours!  It's beautiful!
The first song is called WHAT WERE YOU DRINKIN'?  Hilarious song!  So fun!  The second song is called WHAT IF YOU WERE ME?  It's a beautiful ballad.  Jonathan will be returning to LA to record both songs with Gordon and his partner, Peter.  Coordinating schedules is going to be a challenge since Peter is in the studio everyday!  He's a busy man.  Jon will need to be available to work with them in Studio City for at least 10 days for the two songs.  When they are done, Gordon wants to give the songs to his Television and Movie contacts and we can hit the record labels.  Gordon also gave Jonathan some great advice about meet and greets, who to contact, etc.
Needless to say this blog is going to be short since we are exhausted!  More to come about the 'Gordon' experience later.  Below is one of the sneaky video's I captured today!  Happy Dancing, Hearts and Hugs!
